Len demonstrates how to start a painting using the 4 universal abstract shapes, plus the triangle of light and color (part of the “Alphabet of Design”), and more, to develop from the beginning a well designed painting, full of energy and rich in controlled color, that almost paints itself. This under-painting process helps the artist maintain a looseness and richness and is more exciting to develop for the artist as well as for the viewer when the painting is finished.
